Linn Grant played in every country around the globe from Morocco to South Korea, Thailand to Singapore and Saudi Arabia. Grant hasn’t competed yet in the United States because she isn’t vaccinated for COVID-19.
The U.S. Government extended COVID-19 restrictions in January. This requires international visitors to have a full vaccination against the virus. Grant hopes to be eligible for the Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play in Las Vegas from May 24-28. The national health emergency expires on May 11.
She will miss the 2023 Chevron Championship – the first LPGA Major of the year – which takes place next week – as well as the Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown, which takes place May 4-7, at TPC Harding in San Francisco. The event was open to the top four Swedish players on the Rolex Rankings. Grant is the highest-ranked Swede, currently ranked No. Caroline Hedwall was replaced as the 22nd ranked player in the world by Caroline Hedwall who is currently ranked 117th. Maja Stark (27) and Madelene Sagstrom (28), as well as Anna Nordqvist (34) complete the Swedish team.
Grant won four times in 2022 on the LET, including the historic Scandinavian Mixed in which she defeated the men of the DP World Tour. She also won the Race to Costa del Sol.
Grant had four top-eight finishes in six LPGA starts during the last season. He also finished T-19 at AIG Women’s British Open.
Grant has not won in 2023, but has finished twice in the top four on LET. She tied for 36th place on the KLPGA.
