The event was a hit with fans, an exciting team competition at the end, and Patrick Reed drank from a shoe.
Greg Norman, the CEO of the League, and South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas, announced Friday that the league hopes to recreate this atmosphere when it returns to the Grange Golf Club from April 26-28 2024. The first event to be announced on the schedule for 2024 is LIV Golf Adelaide. It will take place the same week as PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
DeChambeau, speaking of the league’s Australian debut in April, said: “That’s exactly what LIV is, in its DNA and heart. I think it’s something that can and will happen every week when people begin to understand what’s going on here.” Adelaide, in terms of entertainment and fanfare, was the best LIV event for 2023.
The South Australian Tourism Minister, Zoe Bettison said in a press release that the inaugural event attracted tens and thousands of people from all over Australia and even overseas. Tickets were snapped up as soon as they became available.
A report on the economic impact of the event stated that 41 percent of attendees came from outside the state. Tickets for LIV Adelaide 2024’s hospitality packages go on sale November 15.
