LIV Golf now has a new Executive.
Lawrence Burian was named Chief Operating Officer of the new circuit a day after the conclusion of the team championship event held at Trump National Doral. Gary Davidson, of Performance 54, had served as acting COO since Atul Khosla left his position at the end of December 2022.
Burian will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of LIV, as well as its corporate strategy and development. The league is looking to commercialize 12 teams.
Greg Norman, CEO of LIV Golf and Commissioner, said in a press release that Lawrence is a “proven leader and winner”.
Burian has worked as an Executive Vice President for the Madison Square Garden group of companies. He also has extensive experience in the media, sports, and hospitality industries, which are all vital to LIV. Burian spent a decade working at Cablevision Systems Corporation before MSG. Cablevision Systems Corporation was MSG’s previous cable, media and sports parent company.
Mr. Burian said, “I’m excited to join LIV Golf in the role of Chief Operating Officer. I look forward to leveraging my more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive to help build on progress and momentum already underway.”
“Adding Lawrence to LIV’s executive team is a clear indication of this league’s next phase of growth and aspirations for the future,” said Davidson. Lawrence is a great addition to our Senior Management Team and his experience will be invaluable in the exciting new phase of business.
