LPGA Awards Update: Lilia Vu, winner of two majors, is no longer the leader in the Player of Year race

Oct, 2023

The list of players who have a shot at winning one of the season-ending LPGA awards is getting smaller.

The Rolex Award for Player of the year is the most exciting race of them all. Celine Boutier, a Frenchwoman who won her fourth title this season, surpassed Lilia Vu in Sunday’s POY race. Vu is still in the race to challenge Boutier, who has won three times this season.

Lydia Ko was the winner of the POY, Vare Trophy, and money title last year after winning the CME Group Tour Championship. The Kiwi will have a hard time qualifying for CME this year.

Vu won the AIG Women’s British Open and the Chevron Championship in August. She also received the Rolex Annika Major Award for 2023.
