LPGA TV ratings continue to climb with July being the most watched month ever.

Aug, 2023

According to Sports Business Journal, the LPGA has enjoyed record-breaking television ratings. July was the most watched month in the history of the tour.

Golf fans had plenty of reasons to tune in for the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open. It was held at Pebble Beach Golf Links for the first ever. They stayed. NBC’s third and final rounds each surpassed one million viewers despite a leaderboard that was devoid of many of the big names of the tour. Sunday’s game peaked with 1.59 million viewers, the highest number this season. The prime-time NBC window was also helpful.

According to LPGA statistics, the much less-heralded Dana Open broadcast on CBS reached 1 million viewers in its final round. This makes three landmark days for the tour. SBJ reports in 2014, 2016, and 2022 there were three broadcasts which exceeded the seven-digit mark.

The average viewership for the entire month of July in 2023 was 600,000.

The AIG Women’s Open this week is the final major for the campaign 2023. NBC will broadcast the third and last rounds from 12 noon to 2 p.m. ET.
