Outlyr and the LPGA have announced that the DIO Implant LA Open will move to Palos Verdes Golf Club, Los Angeles, in 2023. The event will take place March 30-April 2, and features 144 players. It also has a $1.75 Million purse, an increase of $250,000 over last year.

The LA Open was held previously at Wilshire Country club in Los Angeles. Next year, Wilshire will be hosting the JM Eagle LA Championship April 27-30. The purse is $3 million, which is double the winnings from last year.

For the first time ever in tour history, two Los Angeles events took place in consecutive weeks in April 2022. They’ll be one month apart next season.

In 2018, the LA Open returned to the LPGA schedule. This was the first time the tour had been back in Los Angeles in over a decade. This year’s LA Open at Wilshire was won by Nasa Hataoka. Brooke Henderson (2021), Minjee Lee (1999) and Moriya Jutanugarn (1882) were previous winners.

Marina Alex hosted the inaugural LPGA event at Palos Verdes in January. Many tour players are familiar with the course as the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge women’s college championship, now the Therese Hession, has been held there since more than twenty years. Past winners include Carlota Ciganda, Natalie Gulbis and Brittany Lang.
