Lydia Ko is very close to being inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame. What are the requirements for other sports stars to be eligible for one of the most difficult Halls?

Feb, 2023

Lydia Ko only needs two points to be in the LPGA Hall of Fame. She’s 25 years old and is on track to be the youngest player to reach that milestone.

The current record is held by Inbee Park, a seven-time major winner. At 27 years old, she met the requirements. Karrie Webb was the youngest person to reach the 27 point mark at the age of 25, but due to the 10-year service requirement that the LPGA had in effect until last year Webb became eligible at the age of 30. Se Ri Pak was 26 at the time she scored 27 points, but she was 29 when she was inducted.

To be eligible to the LPGA Hall of Fame players must have won or received at least one of these: LPGA major, Vare Trophy (lowest scoring average) or Rolex Player of Year.

They also need to have 27 points

  • One point for every LPGA official tournament winner
  • Two points for every LPGA major tournament winner
  • One point for every Vare Trophy or Rolex Player Of The Year award earned.
  • As of last year, an Olympic gold medal is worth 1 point.

Here is a list listing active stars, and where they are on the march towards 27:
