Mackenzie Hughes withdrawn from the Travelers Championship 2023 on Thursday after his first round because of illness.
Hughes, 32, shot a 6-over-76 on day one of the tournament at TPC River Highlands, in Cromwell. Connecticut. But he only made three bad holes. Hughes started his round in the back nine, making double bogey at the par-4 15, bogey at the par-3 5, and a triple on No. 7, a par 4. He also made pars on his other 15 holes.
Hughes won the Sanderson Farms Championship this year and has two top-10 finishes in 20 starts. He has earned more than $3,000,000 this year and is currently ranked No. The FedEx Cup standings currently place him at No. 35.
After his first round, Mackenzie Hughes was a WD in the Travelers Championship.
