Byrd shot rounds of 66,67,131 at the St. Johns Golf and Country Club on March 20-21 to win his fourth Advocates Professional Golf Tour title by 10 shots over Zachary Juhasz and Kevin Hall.
The 25-year old former Middle Tennessee player, who hails from Washington D.C., won the event for his second win in three starts this season. He also won the Honda Classic and Genesis Invitational of the PGA Tour.
He was awarded $7,500.
Byrd started the second round with a three stroke lead. He ended up shooting 5-under 31 from the front line to put it to rest.
Byrd stated that he was very fortunate to have had two chances to play on the PGA Tour. These events were a huge factor in my week. It gave me a lot more confidence in my game, and in myself. I felt more confident in my abilities to control my game and myself when out on the field.”
