The DP World Tour’s Alfred Dunhill links Championship was thrown off schedule by heavy rains that fell in Scotland at the weekend.
The annual pro am event held across the Old Courses at St. Andrews and Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns has been shortened to just 54 holes. It will now be completed on Monday after all three courses became “waterlogged” and impossible to play.
Matt Fitzpatrick won by three shots on Monday, the fifth day of the tournament. He shot a 6-under-66 at the Old Course in St. Andrews. Andrews), Ryan Fox (65/St. Andrews), Ryan Fox (65/St. Sebastian Soderberg shot the lowest round of the day, a 10-under-62 at Kingsbarns. He finished fifth with a score of 15 under.
The 29-year old Englishman, who won nine times on the European circuit, also played with his mother Susan in the pro am event.

Fitzpatrick, in addition to winning nine DP World Tour titles, has also won 2023 RBC Heritage and the U.S. Open 2022.
Fitzpatrick said, “You’ll probably forget all of my wins in the future, except for the major,” but you’ll remember the one that you won with mum.
