Due to its position in the PGA Tour schedule, the Valspar Championship at Innsbrook’s Copperhead Course, Palm Harbor, Florida was already lacking a slew if stars (four of five events leading to the Valspar were named, with another one due next week).
After the Friday cut, some of the top players didn’t perform well enough to be eligible for a Saturday tee.

Matt Fitzpatrick leads the list, despite having struggled with his game for much of 2023. The 13th-ranked player is in the field of the WGC-Dell Technologies match play next week in Austin, Texas.
