AUGUSTA (Georgia) — This week, 16 players will make their debuts at Augusta National for this week’s 87th Masters Tournament. They have a variety of backgrounds and stories to tell.
There are seven amateurs on the field, six of them from qualifying tournaments, and Vanderbilt’s Gordon Sargent receiving a special exemption.
Kurt Kitayama won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. Sahith Theegala, Tom Kim and Tom Kim will be making their debuts as PGA Tour players. Kim already has two Tour wins. Kim was joined by Tiger Woods, Fred Couples and Rory McIlroy Monday.
