Michael Block’s odds of finishing in the top 40 at Charles Schwab Challenge are better than those of several PGA Tour players, including Kevin Kisner and European Rys Cup captain Luke Donald

May, 2023

Michael Block, , the People’s Champion , had the best week of his life at the PGA Championship in Rochester, New York. The 46-year old shot rounds of 70,70,70-71 and finished in a tie with 15th place. This earned him an invitation to the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla.

But that’s not the last time Block will be seen.

was invited by Colonial Country Club to the Charles Schwab Challenge this week in Fort Worth, Texas. This invitation came just moments after the PGA pro finished his final round at Oak Hill. Block has also been given a place in the RBC Canadian Open, which will be held at Oakdale Golf and Country Club from June 8-11.

In terms of odds, Block is better placed to finish in the top 40 this week than Tour winner Kevin Kisner or European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald. Block has odds of +275 for a top 40 finish, while Kisner & Donald have +280.

To win however, Block must be +50000. If you bet $100 on Block for the trophy to come Sunday, then you would win $50,100 ($50,000 + your $100 original wager).

It’s not a bad pay day.

Colonial will fit Block’s style of play well. The John Bredemus/Perry Maxwell game is not about distance, but about plotting.

If he can continue to putt at the same level as he did in Oak Hill – sixth place in SG: Putting (+1.545), he will have a good chance on Friday afternoon of making it to the weekend.

A top-40 bet feels right after Block’s performance last week.
