Nov, 2023

Min Woo Lee tries to hide and run away.

The Australian shot a second consecutive 5-under 66, extending his advantage to three shots in the 2023 Fortinet Australian PGA Championship. The win would be his first on the DP World Tour, and his biggest of his career.

Lee stated, “I played solidly again.” “A few mistakes, but that’s what happens.” Overall, I’m happy with how today went.

Lee birdied the first hole of Royal Queensland for the third day in a row. He added another birdie at the third. Two birdies and two bogeys completed his front nine, bringing him to 2 under.

Rikuya HOSHINO, who was three shots behind, finished the day with 17 under after adding three birdies on the back.

Lee explained that the course is one where players can shoot low. “You’ll be aggressive regardless of what you do,” he said. There are probably a few holes where you won’t have to use your driver as much as I did in the last three rounds. All depends. It depends on the score, but I am here because I followed the game plan and played aggressively. “Hopefully I can do the same.”

Lee is ranked 45th on the Official World Golf Ranking. However, his last win was at the Scottish Open two years ago. A third place in his native country would be a special achievement.

Lee stated, “I wanted to win the DP World Tour. I knew it in the back my mind. It will be incredible. It’s amazing to win. It’s not as if I can’t win, but I have only won three times. It’s a great feeling to win.

“I’m sure tomorrow will be another day, and I hope to keep going.” “I can only control what I do. If someone shoots low and I finish the day satisfied with how I played, then I will be happy.”

Adam Scott, who partnered Lee on Saturday and played with Curtis Luck, is fourth at 11 below.
