Jen Judson, the president of LIV golf, released a statement on Friday regarding ‘s multiyear TV deal to broadcast its tournaments on The CW Network (owned by Nexstar Media Group).

This statement speaks for itself.

“We are deeply disappointed that Nexstar, a news company, would participate in such a shameful PR stunt like LIV Golf. This is fundamentally designed for rehabilitating the Saudi reputation, which was irreparably damaged by the state-ordered murder of Jamal Khashoggi. It is difficult to see what Nexstar represents. It is impossible to have a news brand and behave this way. Saudi Arabia killed a Washington Post journalist, and then cut him with a bone saw.

“Riyadh would like to use golf as a way to make Americans forget about the crime of murder. They cannot get away with it. We are calling on Nexstar employees, many of them journalists, to demand that management explain why they partnered with the murderers. We call on Nexstar to cancel their murderous golf show. If they refuse to cancel the program, here’s what we can do: Don’t watch it and ask each sponsor not to sponsor.

LIV’s second season of 14 events is scheduled to begin next month at Mayakoba, Mexico.
