SCOTTSDALE (Ariz.) — The national individual champion for men has been crowned. This means only one thing: It’s match play time.
North Carolina, which finished at 6 under par, is the number one seed for match play. The Tar Heels face Arizona State for the last match play spot. Arizona State defeated Stanford on the 2nd playoff hole. Last year, the Sun Devils reached the match play final before losing to Texas.
Only one top-seeded squad has ever won the championship (Oklahoma State in 2018).
Tuesday afternoon, the quarterfinals will begin and then the semifinals. The final will be held on Wednesday. All times are ET (three hours ahead of Scottsdale).
