After one round, Nelson Ledesma is the leader and Alejandro Tosti is the co-leader at the 2023 Visit Knoxville Tour.
Augusto Nunez, a fellow Argentinian, is tied for sixth. Jorge Fernandez Valdes, another South American golfer, is tied for 20th place. Four of the nine golfers representing Argentina are in the field at Holston Hills Country Club, Knoxville Tennessee.
Ledesma, in particular, said that he felt comfortable on the course because it was familiar.
“I enjoy the course. It is a typical Argentinean course with trees. The greens look great. “We are fine,” he said following a round of 63, which included three birdies in the front and four on the back.
Tosti, who is a rookie in this season’s tournament, shot the same 7-under 63, but his scorecard had more interest, with a double bogey and two bogeys, but he countered it all by making 11 birdies including three consecutive ones to end his round.
“Eleven in a day was like, ‘wow!’ one after another,” he said. “I had a few bad breaks, where I made doubles, but I again fought and yeah, everything was hitting the balls great. “It’s the best I’ve had in years. The best I have put together in years. So everything is coming together.”

The Korn Ferry Tour 2023 schedule includes the 11th event. Visit Knoxville is a legacy event: It’s been on the circuit schedule each year since 1990. Holston Hills is the host of the event for the third consecutive year.
