CHERRY HILLS, Colo. – Nick Dunlap and Neal Shipley were the best amateur golfers of this summer.
Dunlap placed second in the Elite Amateur Series with two victories at the Northeast Amateur, and North & South Amateur. Shipley placed fourth in the Elite Amateur Series with two T-3s and two runner-up finishes. He was also a runner-up in the Dogwood Invitational.
It’s not surprising that they are the last two golfers in the U.S. Amateur 2023. Cherry Hills Country Club hosts the Amateur.
They both have 2024 Masters and U.S. Open invitations for next summer. But they will focus on the Havemeyer trophy in the Mile High City as their first priority.
