Plans can change at any time, as they did Monday when the PGA Tour announced that Hardy Riley had withdrawn their entry from the Vidanta Vallarta event in Vallarta Mexico.

Hardy has been replaced by Ted Potter, Jr., and Riley by Richard S. Johnson. The WD was not explained. If a player needs to withdraw from an event before it starts, they are not required give a reason.

It is the first time since Tony Finau, at the Houston Open in November last year, that a PGA Tour winner who was due to play the next week has withdrawn from the event.

Hardy and Riley’s first Tour victory has given them status they had not previously enjoyed on Tour, as well as earned them spots at the PGA Championship & Memorial.
