Lydia Ko isn’t the only top-three player with a new looper in this season’s world. Minjee Lee’s 2023 campaign will be in Thailand next week with a new caddie.
Lee won the 2022 U.S Women’s Open at Pine Needles as well as the 2021 Amundi Evian Championship. After five seasons, she parted with Jason Gilroyed, her veteran caddie. Gilroyed was there when Cristie Kerr won 2007 USWO at Pine Needles.
Golfweek was informed by Lee’s agent that Lee’s new caddie would be Rance De Grussa. Rance is also an Australian and hails from Perth. De Grussa has mainly worked on men’s tours and most recently, for Jason Scrivener.
Lee, a eight-time winner of the LPGA, will begin her ninth season at the Honda LPGA Thailand. With $3,809 960, Lee finished second in the money table last season, behind Lydia Ko. She was also awarded the $1 million prize in the LPGA Tour Aon Risk Reward Challenge, which she won for the entire season.
