Each major event played at Oak Hill Country Club is unique, with its own ebbs and flows, and its own champion, because no player has won on the East Course twice.
The lineage of these players has also produced their own unique mix of dramatic moments, great feats and memorable shots. They are considered among the best in the history.
Oak Hill will appear on the main stage of the golfing world for the 13th consecutive time, when the PGA Championship 2023 gets underway on May 18. Over the next four days, Oak Hill is sure to add to the list of memorable moments that have already been made at this truly iconic venue in America.
It is a great honor to be covering the 8th major Oak Hill event for the Democrat & Chronicle. I began my coverage of the U.S. Open in 1989. My own observations and research on the five major events held at Oak Hill prior to my arrival in Rochester have allowed me to compile a list of great shots and/or pivotal moments for each.
