The Skinny Odyssey Versa Putters are designed to make it easier to aim your putter.

The Deep Dive: In a decade, Odyssey introduced a line of putters that were as polarizing and as popular as any club to hit the pro shops in recent years. Versa putters came in all sizes and shapes, with alternating black-white lines. Versa putters looked nothing like any other, and they were loved by all who saw them. They won several championships, including the Versa #9 used by Phil Mickelson to win the 2013 British Open at Muirfield.

Odyssey offers several different putter families with different benefits and features. Versa putters emphasize alignment and aim.

Odyssey did extensive research on how pros aim. It was clear that they aim better than club players. Golfers of all levels struggle to aim accurately. This is because the distance between you and the hole is only 10 feet. If your aim is off even 1 degree, and the ball rolls on the intended line, the hole will be missed.

Golfers who place an Odyssey Versa putter in the address position will see a black topline and a brightly colored line behind it. Each putter’s back has a thick, black area. This pattern is stark and easily visible because it alternates between black-white-black areas. This pattern can be easily seen if you place a Versa putter behind the ball.

The Versa alignment system is now available on the Versa putters. Odyssey’s White Hot insert can also be found in the Versa putters. This insert is the same one that golfers will find inside the White Hot OG putter. It’s firm, but it has a soft feel when the ball hits the ground. It makes a sound that matches the force applied to putts, and the speed at which the ball leaves the face. It has been Odyssey’s most loved face insert for many seasons.

Versa putters have now been updated with adjustable sole weights. This allows fitters to easily adjust the putter’s weight to suit the club’s length or player preference.

There used to be many Versa putters. Now, there are only five.

The Odyssey Versa #7 by David Dusek/Golfweek

The Double Wide and the One are both heel-toe-weighted blades. The Three T is a compact mallet. The #17 is the most well-known Odyssey putter shape. The #7 has wing-like extensions in both the heel and the toe. While the Twelve is a high-MOI mallet, the Twelve is new. Versa’s new Twelve has a straight line running back from your face. It runs parallel to your target line, instead of perpendicular.
