CHARLOTTE (N.C.) — Moving Day for the Wells Fargo Championship 2023 was not disappointing.
There was a 11-way tie at the top of the leaderboard on Saturday, shortly after Tyrrell Hatton’s final pairing with Nate Lashley started their round at Quail Hole Club. No, it wasn’t a mistake.
The leaders were grouped for most of the morning before Wyndham and Xander sprang apart. Clark and Schauffele were paired together in the penultimate groups. Clark shot the lowest round of the week, an 8-under-63, to take the top spot at 16-under. Schauffele, who was one shot behind Clark, had a 7 under-64 to finish second, at 14-under.
A Monday qualifier also made his way into the spotlight. Fans saw a five-time champion become a snake-charmer and a left handed shot that you just have to see. What we learned during the third round of Saturday’s Wells Fargo Championship.
