According to the new lawsuit, the defendants are accused of spreading “malicious false accusations” that were intended to harm Reed, his family, and colleagues professionally and personally. Reed was a former member on the PGA Tour Masters Champion. He also won many other accolades and awards before he turned 32 em>.

The lawsuit names Shane Ryan as “one the earliest and perhaps most hateful and unhinged defendants to defame falsely injure or tortiously interfere avec Mr. Reed, His family and his coworkers”.

Shane Ryan is the author of “Slaying the Tiger” and has just released “The Cup They Can’t Lose”. Reed’s team claims that “compounds, republishes the alleged false, very damaging attacks.”

Ryan, according to the complaint, is “pathologically obsessed” with hurting Reed and his family, as well as his colleagues and friends. Chamblee and the other Defendants are in a similar suit called Reed v. Chamblee. This was also filed in Jacksonville Federal Court, Florida.

Larry Klayman was Reed’s attorney. He spoke to Reed after he filed the lawsuit on behalf of his client.

My client, his family, and colleagues were made the whipping boys of dishonest and cheap journalists in golf media, such as Shane Ryan, which feed at the troughs of the PGA Tour. This tour has historically mistreated Mr. Reed. My client’s decision to move to LIV Golf was primarily due this mistreatment. Insufficient security was not provided at PGA Tour events. Hostile fans vilified and threatened Mr. Reed and his wife, caddie and coach. This was in response to the rank defamation as well as other alleged illegal acts by Defendants in these recently filed lawsuits.”

“Mr. Reed is defending himself, his family and his colleagues. He is fighting back in court to not only redeem his reputation for honesty, superior golf achievements, and success, but also to protect his loved one from Shane Ryan and Doug Ferguson, who are making a miserable living spreading false information and lies about him. These journalists, publishers, and networks make a poor name for the good ones by publishing and broadcasting false information to millions of people for their own financial gain. They do this to create viewers, viewership, clicks and readers. It is all for the purpose of using Mr. Reed cruelly and callously as a way to make money, regardless how detrimental it may have been to his career, his family and colleagues, or his personal life.

“Let it also be known that anyone following Shane Ryan or the other defendants in the two lawsuits to make a quick profit and harm Mr. Reed, Reed’s family and colleagues will be held responsible under the letter and spirit of the law.”
