AUGUSTA (Ga.) — At 7:30 a.m. ET Saturday, the line for the Masters Main Golf Shop was longer than the practice range.

Katie Hershey only wanted a gnome.

Hershey, a Lexington, Kentucky resident, said that she keeps seeing them on social media so she has to buy one. Hershey was visiting Augusta National for her first time. “I’m so excited. “I can’t wait for everyone to see me back home.”

In 2016, the Masters Tournament introduced the gnome in an argyle cardigan. This was the beginning of the popularity for bearded wonders. The latest version of the gnome looks like a Masters patron in a blue shirt. He is carrying a stack green and white cups.

Hershey said that the first time he saw him, I was shocked. He’s getting better. They’re incredible, I think.

The shop also featured new Peter Millar shirts, so the gnome was a popular item. This year, the brand launched a floral pattern that features pink azaleas. Another Peter Millar design features a blue background and Masters cups on the shirt.

Trena Stuart of Fort Worth, Texas, said, “It might be an hour for me get inside, but it doesn’t matter.” “I have a Christmas wish list and I must make it happen.”

A beige Smathers & Branson belt featuring various badges from The Masters Tournament is another novelty option. These include the following: 1934, 1976; 1978, 1980, and 2016.

One of the most popular new items was Saturday’s Masters sweatshirt in yellow or green.
