Los Angeles Country Club was criticized by golf fans because of the U.S. Open Records that were broken during the week. The course was a little tougher over the weekend, but it wasn’t as grueling as we are used to.

The course received some bad press, but it still had a better week than NBC Golf analyst Paul Azinger. Social media ripped Azinger’s commentary during the weekend coverage.

Azinger’s comments were particularly offensive in a particular call. Wyndham Clark had to deal with a difficult shot just off the 9th green. She played it left of the hole, with the intent of using the slope of the hill to get it back to the hole. Azinger insisted that the ball would stop but it kept rolling until it was about six feet from the cup.
I’ve never seen an announcer get it wrong three or four times about the outcome of a 10 yard shot like Azinger did with Clark’s chip at the 9th.
