Stacy Lewis wasn’t shy on Wednesday, when asked whether she thought there could have been more done to promote the first Solheim Cup-Ryder Cup back-to back in Europe.
Lewis said that she had worked very hard to create some synergy among the two organizations.
Team Europe will be aiming to win the third consecutive Solheim Cup, which is being held for the first time on Spanish soil. The first Ryder Cup in Rome will take place next week.
In response to Lewis’ remarks, the PGA of America issued the following statement:
“We are passionate supporters of the U.S. Solheim Cup team and we are promoting Solheim Cup in various ways. We are creating digital assets, and working with our LPGA friends on our social media platforms. We produced the first U.S. Ryder Cup Team Video, in which our captain and the players expressed their support for Solheim Cup Team.
“We will also support the Solheim Cup by providing editorial content to PGA.com, and engaging with Solheim Cup-related content across PGA of America’s channels. Seth Waugh, our CEO, will also be in Spain cheering on the U.S. Solheim cup Team. The PGA of America’s digital and social media campaigns will raise awareness for the PGA of America in a meaningful manner.
The U.S. Ryder Cup twitter account released a video of good luck on Thursday, 10 am. Wyndham and Brian Harman wished luck to Allisen Corporationz who won the 2023 U.S. Open. Lilia Vu was also congratulated by Brian Harman.

Since 2003, the Solheim Cup is held in odd-numbered years. The COVID-19 virus forced Ryder Cup officials in 2020 to cancel the event. After the 2021 match at Whistling Straits, the biennial male’s tournament decided to continue with odd years.
Next year, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club at Gainesville in Virginia will host the Solheim Cup.
