PGA Tour announces official schedule for 2024. FedEx champion to receive $25 million

Aug, 2023

The PGA Tour released their schedule for 2024 on Monday.

For the first time in 2012, the season will follow a calendar-year schedule. The number of regular season events is down to 36 from 44 last year. Three FedEx Cup Playoffs events remain.

This season, only the top 70 finishers of the FEC standings qualified for the postseason.

The Sony Open in Hawaii will follow the Sentry as the first event of 2024. The American Express will host the first event in the United States, which is scheduled to take place in Palm Desert, California.

The PGA Tour has reimagined its schedule. It will begin in January, with more stars going head-to-head. There will also be weekly dramas of life-altering events and new stars emerging.

There are eight “signature” events, which were originally called “designated events”, but have been renamed “elevated events” during the season 2022-23.

These eight are:

  • The Sentry
  • AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
  • The Genesis Invitational
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational
  • RBC Heritage
  • Wells Fargo Championship
  • The Memorial Tournament
  • The Travelers Championship

The 36-hole cut will be used for the three invitationals hosted by players – Genesis APR Memorial.

Farmers Insurance Open, January 2019 in San Diego, will feature a Sunday finish for a third consecutive year.

Three tournaments will be included in the DP World Tour Race to Dubai for the third consecutive year: the Genesis Scottish Open (formerly known as the Barbasol Championship), the Barracuda Championship scheduled to take place from July 11-14, and the Barracuda Championship.

The schedule of the Olympic Men’s Competition in France is not complete in August.

The playoffs will be the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis at TPC Southwind, the BMW Championship in Castle Rock, Colorado for the first-time (Castle Pines was the host of the International between 1986 and 2006) and the Tour Championship in Atlanta at East Lake Golf Club.

FedEx Cup 2024 champion will receive a bonus of $25 million.
