NASSAU (Bahamas) – Before the USGA and R&A even released a new rule that would reduce golf ball distances for all players, some PGA Tour professionals have already called it “one of dumbest things I have ever heard.”
After a “Notice and Comments” period of three years with golf equipment manufacturers and other organizations, the governing bodies will make an announcement in early next week. The USGA and R&A, who initially suggested that the rule would be added to local model rules geared towards elite players, have reportedly changed their minds and now intend to roll the ball back for everyone including weekend warriors.
