The LIV Golf League returns to action outside of the nation’s capitol this week after a week-long break for the PGA Championship.
The Greg Norman-led, Saudi Arabia-funded golf series will host its seventh event at Trump National Washington D.C., Sterling, Virginia. It features its 54-hole format, 12-team shotgun start, and signature format. Brooks Koepka will be the talk of this tournament, having won his fifth major title at last week’s PGA in Rochester, New York.
LIV Golf previously held events on the former President’s properties, in Bedminster New Jersey and Doral Florida.
Harold Varner III leads James Piot by two strokes after a first-round 8-under 64. Andy Ogletree is tied with Cam Smith, Kevin Na, and Mito Peira for third place at 4 under, while Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, and a large group are all tied for 7th at 3 under.
Iron Heads GC, RangeGoats GC, and RangeGoats GC all share the lead with 10 under.
