There are high chances that Cobra Golf’s top players Rickie Fowler and Bryson DeChambeau, as well as Lexi Thompson, will be back in action in 2023 with new drivers in their bags. A number of new Cobra models were just added to the USGA’s Conforming Driver List by R&A.
The game’s governing bodies must test any new club before it can be used in tournament play. The Aerojet, Aerojet LS, and Aerojet Max are now available for use on the PGA Tour, LPGA events, and recreational golfers.

Cobra has not provided any details about the Aerojet pilots, but the photos below, which were part of the Conforming Driver List, and the company’s history, allow us to infer a few things:
- There appear to be three types Aerojet drivers. They all have an adjustable hosel with the word “PWRSHELL”, right behind the leading edge.
- The sole of all three Aerojet drive types has a checkered or weave pattern. This look was achieved by carbon fiber at the crown and bottom of the club in the past.
- Aerojet standard appears to be a single 12-gram weight at the back.
- Two weights are positioned on the sole of the Aerojet LS. The USGA photos show a 12-gram and 3-gram weights. These swappable weights were used in the past to allow players and fitters create a draw- or fade bias. LS drivers are low-spin versions the standard driver.
- Two weight ports are available on the Aerojet Max. One is located in the back, the other is located in the heel. The USGA photos show a 12-gram weight in the back and a 3gram weight in the heel. This club could serve as a draw-bias, or an anti-slice driver by having extra weight in the heel.
