LIV Golf in Spain
LIV Golf Andalucia is hosting its first event after the U.S. Open at Valderrama Golf Club. Valderrama measures 7,028 yards and is a par 71 course. The club hosted the Ryder Cup 1997.
It’s the first LIV tournament since the agreement was signed between the PGA Tour DP World Tour, and Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (the main sponsor of LIV Golf).
LIV Golf London will take place the following week, and is the second of two European events leading up to the 151st Open Championship.
Dustin Johnson, Jason Kokrak and the rest of the field are all tied at 4 under par after the first round. Anirban lahiri is one shot behind after bogeying his last hole.
Bryce DeChambeau’s Crushers lead the team competition with 4 under, while Cameron Smith’s Ripper is at 3 under.
