Tommy Fleetwood only shot one round in 60s this week in South Africa. It was just in time to secure the title defense that had been three years in the making.
The 31-year old Englishman shot a final round 5-under 67 at Gary Player Country Club, Sun City, South Africa on Sunday to win the 2022 Nedbank Golf Challenge. He also defended his 2019 title. Due to the lingering effects from the COVID-19 pandemic, the DP World Tour event has been cancelled the past two years.
Fleetwood’s final victory in South Africa came through a playoff with Marcus Kinhult. Fleetwood was victorious by one shot at 11 over, beating Ryan Fox at 10 under. Shubhankar Sharma was third at 9 under. Richie Ramsay was fourth at 8 under. Sebastian Soderberg finished third at 9 under, with Christiaan Benzuidenhout finishing T-5 at 7 below.
Fleetwood was moved by the win, now with six victories on the DP World Tour. See the best photos from his win in South Africa.
