Ping expands Blueprint Irons with Blueprint T and Blueprint s

Jan, 2024

Ping Blueprint S irons and Blueprint T Irons were introduced to the PGA Tour during the summer. They are now available for pre-order and custom fitting.

Ping has added forged irons to its lineup of irons. These join the original Blueprint irons that were released in 2019.

Ping CEO and President John K. Solheim stated that the new line of irons represents a new strategy in the category of forged-irons. The “S”, with its forgiving and cavity-back design, and the traditional muscle back shape of the T, are aimed at a wider audience of golfers that prefer tour-styled forged irons.

Ping Blueprint S Irons: Performance-focused Design

The Blueprint S was developed after extensive testing by top Ping pros. It features a cavity-back forged design that is influenced from Ping’s “S” irons. Its compact shape, thin topline, and minimal offset appeal to enthusiasts of forged clubs/blades. The 8620 carbon steel forged head features a hydropearl® 2.0 chrome finish and a smooth cavity design. Swingweight can be fine-tuned with precision-milled grooves, a high density toe screw and precision-milled grooves. The “Precision pocket forging” of the 3, 4 and 5 irons reduces weight to increase MOI and optimize center gravity. The pocket is filled to improve sound and feel with an elastomer.

Ping’s comments about Blueprint S Irons: Solheim stated that the Blueprint S would be a pleasant shock for many golfers, who may not have thought they were good enough. Its design is geared towards the lower handicapper, but the technology makes it appealing to players who are looking for a blade-style forged iron that is a bit easier to hit, yet still has the same look and feel as a blade.

The Ping Blueprint T-irons: Control and Workability

The Blueprint T is designed for experienced golfers who value workability. It’s a forging made of 8620 carbon steel. The muscle-back shape concentrates mass in the area of impact for a pleasing feel and sound. The narrow soles and shorter heel face height are designed to create a more distraction-free look at the address, and ensure consistent turf interaction. Precision-milled grooves, a high density toe screw and precision swingweight control are provided by the high-density toe screws.

Blueprint T lofts are compatible with Blueprint S, i230 and Blueprint T irons. This allows for blended sets from Ping’s iron offering.

What Ping has to say about Blueprint T Irons: Solheim stated that “traditionally, an iron such as the Blueprint T depends as much on skill level as on technology.” We understand this, but we are always looking for new ways to improve each iron that we design. Every detail in the Blueprint T is calculated and precise to deliver the performance expected from a blade forged. “It’s a shot-maker’s blade crafted with precision for precision.”
