Police in Cumberland are trying to stop a golfer or golfers from smashing golf ball through the windows of a monastery.
A recent Facebook post from the official page of the police department states that “in the past two week, including last night (Tuesday July 25), a person/persons have been working on a golf game and damaged a town-building at the Monastery.”
Police also posted photos of the holes punched. The department has asked for the responsible parties to come forward, but if that is not possible officials are reminding golfers there are other places to practice their game.
Golfing is prohibited in all parks and playgrounds owned by the town, including at the Monastery grounds. The Monastery grounds is not one of the many local driving ranges in the area.
