In 2023, the purse for the LPGA stop in Wilshire Country club will double to $3 million due to the new title sponsor JM Eagle as well as presenting sponsors. The newly renamed JM Eagle LA Championship boasts the largest purse on the LPGA schedule.
Hannah Green, an Australian golfer, won her third career title after winning a two hole playoff . She took home $450,000. Green’s career earnings total $3,983,874.
When it comes to winning the tour, there is an interesting financial trend for major champions:
“I missed the cut at Chevron last week, and I missed my two other wins on Tour the weekend before.” It’s not that I like missing cuts, but this has worked as a sort of recipe for success.
