Bryson deChambeau posted the lowest score in the circuit, a 12-under-58 at the LIV Golf Greenbrier tournament on Sunday.
DeChambeau was so hot off the bat that he began to think of a 54.
He said, “That was right after the six out of seven birdies I was collecting at the Old White Course of the Greenbrier at White Sulfur Springs in West Virginia.” “I was thinking, ‘Okay, I could get into trouble if I continue to play at this speed and eagle a par 5, so I decided not to do it. ‘”
DeChambeau won $4 million with his five-shot win. Mito Pereira got $2,125,000 for solo second.
Torque GC, (Joaquin Niemann) Sebastian Munoz Mito Pereira David Puig won the team title. They split $3 million. Second place winners Crushers GC, (Bryson deChambeau and Paul Casey) received $1.5 million. Stinger GC, (Louis Oosthuizen Charl Schwartzel Brandy Grace Dean Burmester), took third place, earning $500,000.
