Who it’s for:Golfers looking for a putter with a softer feel and consistent roll.
The skinny: By making the Battle Ready II Putters hollow and then filling the interior chamber with a vibrating-dampening plastic, PXG claims that its new putters have a soft feel, a better sound, and much more forgiveness due to an increase in MOI.
The Deep Dive Back in the day, when PXG first started producing irons, the unique tungsten screw ringing the back of every club was a talking point. PXG’s designers added a blend of polymers to each iron over time. The result is a club that has a unique weighting system and feels great. PXG irons have hollow faces and ultra-thin surfaces to increase ball speed. The internal polymer also supports the face and absorbs excessive vibrations so that shots sound and feel better.
PXG engineers have taken this recipe and applied it to a family of nine flat sticks.
The majority of blade-style putters consist of solid metal, whereas high-MOI putters offer greater forgiveness. They are designed using multiple materials to shift weight from one area to another, making the putter more stable when mishits occur. The Battle Ready II putsters take this formula to its extreme. The putters have thin faces to reduce weight at the front and hollow chambers filled with S COR, a PXG-branded polymer.
Both the blades and mallets of PXG Battle Ready II are hollow and filled with S-COR polymer. (PXG)
The S COR material is lighter and improves sound at impact. It’s used in clubs such as the 0311 irons. This allowed for significant weight to be moved around the blades and mallets. They are now more forgiving of mishits. According to PXG the MOI (moment of inertia) in the Battle Rady II putsters is 10 percent greater than the original Battle Ready putters.
Each PXG Battle Ready II putting stick has a Pyramid Face pattern. (PXG)
PXG’s Pyramid Face Pattern is used in the hitting area. This design features a densely-packed groove that increases the consistency with which the face interacts the dimples of the ball and the roll of each putt. Fitters can adjust the weight of each putter based on the length of the club or the preferences and needs for the player. Finally, all nine Battle Ready II putters are being made available in four different hosel configurations–plumber’s neck, double bend, heel-shafted and armlock.
PXG Battle Ready II Blade Putters (PXG)
The nine PXG Battle Ready II putting sticks include four blade-style options, the Dagger+, Brandon, Mustang, and Closer.

The mallets include the Bat Attack (also known as One & Done), Blackjack, Hercules, and Apache. The Darkness Insignia is featured on all nine putters. It’s a skull with the 26 number, which pays tribute to the 26th Marine Corps Regiment of Bob Parsons who founded the company.
