For junior golfers aged 7-15, you can now sign up to qualify for the 2024 Drive, Chip and Putt, which will be held the Sunday before the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.
Tuesday’s announcement was made jointly by the USGA, the Masters Tournament and the PGA of America. The DCP was created by the three major golf governing bodies as a way of introducing children to the game.
The Drive, Chip and Putt contest is set to host its 10th season in 2024. The program is free and available in all 50 US states. Local qualifying starts in April 2023 at over 340 locations nationwide, and will continue through the summer.
There are four age groups, a boys’ and girls’ division, as well as a girls’ and boys’ division. Scoring is determined by driving, chipping, and putting skills. The top local performers will be promoted to the subregional or regional qualifiers in July, August, September, and October.
These are the 10 regional sites that will lead up to 2024:
- Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio
- TPC Boston, Norton, Massachusetts
- Aronimink Golf Club Newtown Square, Pennylvania
- Sea Island Golf Club, St. Simons Island (Georgia)
- Champions Golf Club, Houston
- Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Colorado
- Desert Mountain, Scottsdale (Arizona)
- The Golf Club of Tennessee Kingston Springs, Tennessee
- Chambers Bay, University Place Washington
- TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Illinois
Each site will have 40 girls and 40 guys qualifying, and they will advance to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club Sunday, April 7, 2024.
