Atul Khosla has resigned as LIV Golf’s Chief Operating officer . This leaves the Saudi-backed circuit with no one to guide it in its most important sports operations.
Khosla was believed by many to be the man who would lead the league to legitimacy in the world of sports, despite the presence of Greg Norman.
Khosla was previously the chief corporate development officer and brand officer of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before he became LIV’s COO.
Khosla stated in a release that he was looking forward to joining the LIV Golf Investments team and helping to bring this vision to fruition and make the game an international sport.
Norman said this about Khosla in December: “The strategic expertise Atul brings to a major sporting franchise will allow us to execute our vision of holistically improving the game of golf worldwide. We are proud to have him as a part of our commitment to bringing the best talent to our mission to grow the game of golf.
According to The Times, agents and players were notified of the change days before.
Golfweek has reached out to LIV Golf representatives to request comment, but has not received a reply.
