The PGA Tour Players’ Meeting in Toronto before the RBC Canadian Open was going to be a contentious event.
According to a report it was heated between two players, Rory McIlroyand Grayson Murray.
Golf Channel reports that a player said, when Murray yelled PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, something like “We don’t believe you, Jay!” You should resign immediately! “You lied in our faces!” — McIlroy replied with a dig.
He reportedly said, “Just play better Grayson.” Murray then told McIlroy “[expletive] you off.”
a Telegraph source and PGA Tour golfer Wesley Bryan both confirmed the story. Bryan claimed there was no beef afterward, but:
Confirmed. After the meeting, they were friendly and pleasant. We laughed about it as a team. There was no beef or bad feelings.
