According to ratings, this year’s U.S. Open was a big hit with fans at the Los Angeles Country Club.
According to NBC Sports’ Sunday nine-hour window, the average audience for both Peacock Sports and NBC was 6.2 million, which is a record final round viewership since 2019.

NBC issued a statement indicating that the ratings for the U.S. Open had increased by 15% since 2022 (The Country Club), and 9% since 2021 (Torrey Pines). This was the most-watched final round since 2019, when Gary Woodland won at Pebble Beach.

Rory McIlroy’s and Rickie Foller’s presence in the two final groups was a big plus, as they are two of golf’s biggest stars, especially for casual fans who might only watch the majors. Wyndham Clark is the eventual winner and a player that most viewers are not familiar with, but McIlroy played for all 72 holes.
