LOS ANGELES – Rickie fowler is only 18 holes away from winning his first major championship.
He felt much better going into the final hole on Saturday than he did at the end of his round.
Fowler led by two shots over Rory McIlroy and Wyndham McIlroy after one hole. But after Clark birdied No. Fowler missed the par-worthy five-footer at 18.
Fowler (70), Clark (69), and the U.S. Open are now tied on 10 under par with 18 holes remaining.
Fowler replied, “I don’t know why it didn’t move.” “I’m not sure why it didn’t move,” Fowler said. It’s a real bummer. It would have been nice if that goal had gone in. It doesn’t really matter if you are in the lead or two back. Sunday, you’ll have to be able to play well.
Sunday is the day when the tournament truly begins.
U.S. How to watch
McIlroy carded an eagle and birdie finish to shoot a 69.
Fowler starts the day with an advantage of one shot. His score of 130 is the lowest 36-hole total in U.S. Open’s history.

Fowler said, “Had some bogeys in the early round,” who had three birdies and three bogeys. “But I think we did a great job staying present and moving forward.”
Fowler extended his lead to two shots when Clark bogeyed No. When Clark missed No. 17.
Fowler stated, “This is by far the best feeling I have ever had, not just in a tournament, but in particular a major. I would even say in my entire career.” “Through three round we’re exactly where we want to be.”
