In the end it was Jake Knapp who raised the trophy following an even-par 71 in the final round in Vallarta, Mexico on Sunday. The 29-year-old rookie claimed the win at 19 under, two shots clear of Sami Valimaki (69) who finished at 17 under.

Knapp started the year with a T-70 at the Sony Open in Hawaii before a missed cut at the American Express. He rebounded at the Farmers Insurance Open with a T-3 and followed that with a T-28 at the fan-favorite WM Phoenix Open. Knapp has made just nine starts in his PGA Tour career after turning pro in 2016.

A two-time winner on the DP World Tour, Valimaki was looking to become the first player from Finland to win on the PGA Tour. His last victory in Europe came in October at the 2023 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
