The Wells Fargo Championship 2023 will be held at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Wells Fargo Championship was played at TPC Potomac in Avenel Farm last season due to the Presidents Cup 2022 being held at Quail Farm later that year. Max Homa won the title in the year 2022, while Rory McIlroy beat LIV Golf’s Abraham Ancer when it was last played in Charlotte in 2021.
Homa missed the cut in the Zurich Classic along with Collin Morikawa, who is playing the Wells Fargo tournament for the first. McIlroy on the other hand has not played in a Tour event since he won the Masters. He also received criticism after he skipped the RBC Heritage. This was the second time in 2023 that a major event he did not play in.
Jordan Spieth makes his first appearance in Charlotte since 2013. Rickie Fowler is also in the field. His first Tour victory was at Quail hollow 11 years ago.
