Nasa Hataoka, Shiho Kwaki and Mone Inami are all tied at 20 under par with 18 holes remaining in the LPGA Toto Japan Classic, which is being played at Taiheiyo Club Minori Course.
Hataoka, who opened with a 64 in the first round, has since signed for 66 consecutively while Kuwaki went 65-65-66.
Eight Japanese players are ranked among the top 12 players, including Hataoka Kuwaki Inami.
Rose Zhang from the United States was one of the biggest movers in Day 3. She shot a 7-under-65 with eight birdies and only one bogey. She is tied for ninth place after 54 holes and five behind the leaders.
The Golf Channel will broadcast the final-round coverage on Saturday and Sunday night from 11 pm to 2 am. ET.
