NAPLES (Fla.) — Charley Hoffman, Ryan Palmer knew exactly where they would finish at the 2022 QBE Shootout.

12th.

This would be a strong finish in a normal week. But at Tiburon Golf Club that’s not the case. This prediction is not as accurate as it could be after the first round.

Hoffman and Palmer were able to make eagles on three of Tiburon’s four par-5s. They also added 10 more birdies. The duo is now at 16 under, two shots ahead of a pair at 14.

Hoffman stated, “All things considered, we were in great places to make birdies.” “I would rate very low stress throughout the day. It wasn’t stressful for me because I putted first. Ryan putted some amazing shots. I was able hit some great drives and capitalized on almost all of our shots, except 18.

Hoffman and Palmer started their day with an eagle at the first hole. They added one more on the sixth hole and finished at 8-under 28. On the back, they added two more birdies and an Eagle on the 17th. Hoffman’s amazing iron shot into the back pin on 18 was their only complaint.

They’re still ahead heading into Saturday.

“Tomorrow it’s just a matter of driving it well, then choosing which ball to play. I believe we will have many chances tomorrow if we both hit it well.

Hoffman is participating in his sixth QBE Shootout. He has always had a different teammate every time. Hoffman is Hoffman’s fourth partner. This is Palmer’s fifth appearance in the QBE Shootout. Hoffman laughed and said that Harold Varner III and Palmer shot 55 in round one of 2019.

However, a 56 is sufficient.
