Scott Stallings (the player) and Scott Stallings, the realtor. One happy ending at The Masters

Apr, 2023

AUGUSTA (Ga.) — Two men with the same name but for very different reasons are at the 87 th Masters this Week.

Scott Stallings (37-year-old PGA Tour professional in his 13 th season) hadn’t been to the Masters since 2014. He nearly won the BMW Championship in Aug and qualified for the Tour Championship 30-man field, which earns him an exemption for April’s Masters. The other Scott Stallings is the Atlanta-based 60-year-old realtor who entered the annual Masters lottery to win tickets but had little luck.

He and Jenny, his wife, were going to St. Simons Island in Georgia for New Year’s Eve. They noticed a UPS envelope at the door. Jenny opened the envelope and declared, “We have tickets for the Masters.”

After looking closer, she realized that it wasn’t tickets for the Masters; it was an invitation to participate in the Masters.

Scott, the realtor, said that “Anything could go through your mind, like, wow… what if I just showed-up with my clubs to get on the course?” during a telephone interview. “We knew from the beginning that we had to get it in his hands.”

According to some estimates, there are around 20,000 Americans who have the name Stallings. The golfer Stallings had not updated his address at Augusta National in St. Simons Island. The UPS driver was aware that there wasn’t Scott Stallings at this address and so he delivered the envelope with the Masters invitation to the Scott Stallings address he knew, assuring it was for him.

Scott Stallings began to wonder where Scott’s invite to the season-opening major might be.

He said, “I thought my wife had it and was trying to surprise myself.” “She says, “I promise my children that I don’t have the invitation you’re looking to receive.”

Scott Stallings was the wife of the realtor and went on Instagram to send pictures via direct message at Scott Stallings (the golfer) as proof. Please read the entire note. This is not a joke.

Scott Stallings was able to help him with his Masters invitation.

It showed up in Stallings’ video. His wife reacted by saying, “I told your I didn’t have it.”

Scott Stallings, the golfer, met Scott Stallings, the realtor, on Sunday. They were located not far from the site where the Masters will take place. He gave the badges to the realtors for Tuesday and Monday practice rounds and also presented them with a gift that framing his original invitation. He signed the document, “Thank you.” From Scott Stallings one to the next.

Scott Stallings the realtor followed Scott Stallings the golfer on the second hole at Augusta National. He was accompanied by TV cameras from Atlanta news stations.

Scott, the realtor, said that everyone within shouting distance had reacted. “Are you that man?” he asked. He said, “Yes, I’m that man.”

Jenny, Scott’s wife said that it was “surreal”.

The only thing that was negative about the experience was Augusta National’s response, which left it up to Stallings. He also invited them to a fundraiser dinner that he hosted for Tennessee Golf Foundation, where a local chef grilled a feast consisting of pulled pork, beef, and chicken.

Scott, the realtor, stated that “I believe they took it wrongly as if they were at blame.” It was a happy story. It was not our intention for it to go viral in the way that it did. It was tweeted out by him and it went viral.”

Scott, the golfer, recalls that his phone exploded with messages after he retweeted the funny tale about his missing Masters invitation. “I woke up, and I was like, who died?”

Scott, the realtor, enjoyed his fifteen minutes of fame after the story became viral.

“After three-four calls from Augusta National they were like, hey man, can you calm that guy down?” Scott, the golfer said that it was like Scott wasn’t in charge of another adult man. “Neither one of us expected it to attract the attention it received.”

He decided to celebrate that the Scotts had finally reached the promised land.

“You don’t see things like that anymore. Scott, the golfer, said that people look out for their own interests more often than not. “I told him, and he restored the faith in humanity.

Scott, the realtor, and Jenny, his wife, were driving home Tuesday afternoon without badges for the actual tournament. But the Masters will not be far from their thoughts.

He said, “We’ll be watching the TV all day.” “We want Scott to win the Masters this season. It’s in our stars.”
