It’s that time of year again, but if you plan on attending the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale this week, do make sure to steer clear of the water hazards.
Yesterday, the Scottsdale Police Department sent out a tweet reminding spectators that the hazards on the course are not for swimming.
We know! We know! The water hazards are so pretty and look refreshing but trust us when we say DO NOT SWIM in these waters. In the video, one of the officers says “it is gross, trust me people stay out of the water! It’s got pesticides it’s got chemicals that run off from the golf course. You don’t want to go in the water and put us at risk to come in and save you.”
The other officer added, “Remember, it’s a water hazard for the golfers it’s not meant to be a fan hazard,”
“If you go into the water on a dare thinking it’s cute or funny you will definitely be ejected from the tournament for the duration of the tournament. You could also face criminal charges or possibly be arrested.”
This may seem like obvious information to most people, but the crowd at TPC Scottsdale tends to get extremely raucous during the event.
Last year at the event, we saw the famous 16th hole receive a beer shower after Sam Ryder’s hole in one.
