Bjorn, who signed for a 6-under-66, said: “I’m lucky. I’ve played the golf course so often.” It’s been a while. Every year we played on the same greens and fairways.
“I drove very well today.” I drove it on the fairway. “I think I only missed one fairway during this round of Golf. Then this golf course is a lot more manageable.”
Six players, including European Ryder Cup winner Shane Lowry, and captain Luke Donald, are two players behind Sharma.
Rory McIlroy, Billy Horschel and were paired and had a great moment shared by all the golf swing geeks . They shot identical 3-under 69s.
McIlroy said that he had no problems on Thursday, despite sustaining a back problem prior to last month’s Tour Championship.
The Northern Irishman replied “No, not at all” when asked whether the back was a problem on Day 1. It’s just that I haven’t been able hit many balls. I’m hitting some good shots, but you know that it’s about knowing where you are missing the ball and where to aim or not aim. I was a bit unsure on a few shots today but overall I managed my self well and got around.”
McIlroy has won the Irish Open in 2016 at The K Club.
